The craft of blogging is an alliance, a gathering of like-minded people who share a common goal. Every blogger wants to reach the highest levels of success, but to do so one must see the larger picture which is that of the entire blogging community.

As a member of such a community reaching out to others, encouraging communication and lending a helping hand when needed is simply an extension of our everyday offline lives. This is something that comes naturally for most, while others may struggle with this.

The truth of the matter is that we have a responsibility to reach out to others. No one can blog in a vacuum and find any level of happiness or success.

One of the things I make a point of as a blogger is visiting as many sites weekly as I can. Many are daily hangouts where I have become a regular reader. But it is not just about the content; it is the interactions with friends, the sharing of stories and laughs that make the experience a wonderful part of my online life.

In my Week in Review series, I highlight some of the many stops along the internet. Places and people that I have enjoyed sharing some time with and have appreciated their work and their efforts. What really stands out however, beyond the great content produced, is how other bloggers interact with readers and visitors. Many are absolutely great at this.

One such example of a blogger reaching out to help his fellow bloggers is that of my friend Robert Bravery at Integral Web Solutions.

Robert has established a Blog Directory for Bloggers, just another way of him showing his willingness to help fellow bloggers. Since I have known Robert, he has consistently contributed to the blogging community and his readers in an effort to make things better, and for that we owe him a big THANK YOU!

So swing by his site and say Hello, I am sure he will welcome you and be happy that you visited.

Keep Blogging!

It was friendships that started through a blogging alliance that helped me get started and going in blogging. Even now those friendships are as important as ever. :)

  9. Jimi, I too enjoy the feeling of comradeship that we experience as part of an alliance. No, our niche’s aren’t all exactly the same. Heck, Kevin and Antti post stuff that’s way over my head, but knowing we’re all there for each other is what matters! You all have helped to shape and mold me on my journey and have provided amazing friendships. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of us!

For those who don’t have a circle of friends, get one! Find people with similar interests and introduce yourself. Offer to help promote their posts, comment on their blogs, and offer your hand in friendship. You’ll be surprised at how fast it’ll make a difference in your life!

    Jimi,
You are finding your way into the hearts of many bloggers in our community. And I think that is what networking is all about. I’m joining Robert’s group too. See you there! and over there, and way over there, and around there, and…..

  13. I think meeting and reaching out to new people is probably my favorite part of blogging. There are just many great people and I notice that all my favorite people tend to flock in the same circles, it’s funny – but great minds really do think alike. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog by the way, it was greatly appreciated. You’ve visited my other blog a while ago (affiliate marketer’s help desk) – thanks for your input there as well.

      Hi Kiesha.
Thanks for visiting. Yep, yep, we’ve been traveling the same circles. I too greatly enjoy the people I meet in my internet travels. Need to transfer more of this to the offline world where it would make for a better place there as well. :-)

  17. Top post Jimi,

You have to help others if you want them to help you, it’s a simple case of survival. Those who go it alone never caring to offer a hand to others will eventually find themself in a dry arid sand dune with no water and no friends!
