Adding to my long running series of articles on The Blogging Life I offer this one as food for thought.
It doesn’t matter how long you have been blogging, be it 2 months or 2 years, you will eventually come upon that place in your career where you will be just flat out of excuses.
We want so badly to become who we know we can be, but there is always something that seems to hold us back, something that gets in the way of the goals and objectives and pushes the time line further back.
Beginning bloggers may struggle with the transition of suddenly fitting the amount of time required into a lifestyle that was less demanding. This can be quite difficult and may continue for some time, depending on how busy one’s regular life was before making the commitment to blog.
Those of us who have been blogging longer face the challenge of time almost daily, it just seems to be one of those things that seldom goes away.
So how do successful people conquer these challenges and go on to reach their goals?
They run out of excuses.
If we want to reach our dreams and create the life for ourselves that we envision, we’ll have to give up on finding excuses. We must take full responsibility for our lives going forward and find a way around those reasons for not getting things done and advancing our causes.
Excuses temporarily make us feel justified in what we have not accomplished, but then the realism sets in and we wish we had done a better job of managing our efforts.
Break the cycle
From today onward, analyze each excuse for not getting something done as it enters your head.
Is it something that you’ve heard before?
Is there some way to overcome the circumstance?
Will you ever break the cycle of wishing you could have done more?
Each of us must take 100% responsibility for our actions and inactions, as there is an associated result for each. When things turn out nicely, it’s usually because of something we did. The opposite is also true.
When we find a way to stop blaming other events and circumstances for our lack of progress, we begin the healing process, the breaking of the cycle of inaction.
We no longer come up with poor responses that limit our abilities to advance. Instead of finding excuses we find ways to get the work done.
When we don’t like the outcome, we must change our responses to the many challenges that we face.
So what’s your approach for moving forward?
Feel free to share for all to see.
Keep Blogging!

The getting it done in phases is the only way to move forward, coupled with working on the most high priority projects. Do what’s most important first, it’s easy to get off course and lose time.
What’s worse is continually excusing ourselves from getting things done, while doing nothing. As you know, building businesses requires us to continually take some sort of action.
