The last few weeks have been crazy for me with practically every hour of the day being already spoken for. While challenging, I have refused to allow these things to create major setbacks or cause me to fall too far behind my goals and objectives for 2010.
Why am I writing about this you ask?
Because it helps to make a public commitment and acknowledge that things may not be going quite as planned. This is surely nothing unique to me and my situation; many others are or have experienced the same as well. However, going on record means that you have fully committed to taking the necessary actions required to keep pace with your long-term goals.
It’s the nature of the craft, finding ourselves tested and challenged along the path to success, and we will have to respond to the forces that are having an effect on our plans. These crossroads often appear out of thin air, and when and how we respond is critical.
News not so bad
Up until this point you’ve probably wondered what struggles have befallen me but rest assured, the news is not all bad. Simply put, opportunity has knocked and I have opened the door to find things that I absolutely did not have in the plan, but must somehow make an adjustment to handle because of the great long-term benefit.
While this presents a short-term problem of sorts, I have crafted the answers quickly and will set in motion my plan to keep me on track while accomplishing the unexpected.
Time adjustment required
As is often the case, just when you have it all figured out something occurs and you have to make an adjustment to your life, even temporarily, to get to the next phase. Being a creature of habit I dislike change when I’ve got things well in hand and under control, but to regain control… well, we have to do what we have to do.
Back to the future
When I first started blogging I connected with some folks who I consider to be really good friends and even greater persons. As my blogging life has evolved my circles have become wider, meaning that I don’t get around to see them as often as I once did and I miss the regularity of those connections. I have been thinking about this lately and plan to do something about it.
So it’s back to the future for me as I change my internet travel plans and get back to the early days and the friendships that were formed. I allowed myself to get too busy and besides, I miss the ole neighborhood.
Conclusion
Life, both on and offline has a way of causing one to seriously look at what they are doing, weighing the value of your actions and charting new courses. Your goals may remain the same, but the road to your destination may be altered by unforeseen events or circumstances.
In the end, it’s all good and the experience of meeting various challenges serves to make you stronger. Every challenge provides an opportunity to do things differently and better. We should recognize that as we meet these challenges.
This post is simply an honest chat and recognition of the circumstances before me. The message for you is this; face each challenge of life head-on and without hesitation. Make the necessary adjustments to your plans while keeping those plans squarely in sight.
Much like driving an auto, you’ll have to drive around some things that suddenly appear in the roadway, but your destination remains the same.
Keep Blogging!
